Sociology of Religion's editorial board is composed of associate editors appointed by the editor. The editorial board is both a first line of defense and a first field of opportunity for the editor. Associate editors play a key role in reviewing manuscripts, suggesting reviewers, giving advice, and generally acting as a sounding board.
The editorial board should represent the full diversity of the Association for the Sociology of Religion's membership. Although no guarantees can be made in advance, ASR members who are interested in being considered for service on the editorial board should send letters explaining their qualifications and copies of their curriculum vitae to the editorial office.
